One step, two step

It’s Monday again. That means it’s time for another challenge at Paper Playtime. This week we have the theme of more than one fold and I chose to make a stepper card.

The super cute image is another pre coloured image by The Hobby House, a Mo Manning one this time. The papers are from Papermania. The stepper card blank is from WhichCraft, I believe. I do not remember where the heart came from. The sentiment stamp, however, is by Lili of the Valley and as always I have used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lovely white ribbon is by The Ribbon Girl. I’ve made the leaves with a Martha Stewart puncher and used Tim Holtz distress ink on the heart.

I have decided to change the look of my blog’s homepage somewhat, so I have now decided to show the whole post on the homepage. I have gone back and made this change for all cards posted this year (the three previous posts). So avoid a tiny scroll bar and a miles of page to scroll through, I have also reduced the number of posts available per page. Within a week or so I will also add a page for this year’s cards.

Today’s card has been made with papers from Pion Design, a pre-coloured die cut image as well as a sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley, pearls and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, branches made with a Martha Stewart puncher and some Tim Holtz purple distress ink. To frame the main image I made a matching purple scalloped circle. The ribbon is from a local shop and I tied it into a bow in a new way (well new for me). I think it turned out alright.

I have also made a new watermark for my cards as I figured I was due a bit of change 🙂

Baby card + box

One exam done and two to go; all this week. I am so looking forward to the weekend right now! Although I’ve barely done anything but study the past few weeks, another card post was well due! This card and box were the last I made before I packed it all away for the exam preparations. The card was a request from a co-worker and I suggested to make a box to go with. This is the first time I’ve attempted making a box! Let’s have a look then!

Baby girl

A couple of weeks ago I made a baby card for a friend. As she is expecting a baby girl it was the perfect excuse to go all out on pinks and cute and ribbons! What a great inspiration to start out with. I had ordered various bits specifically to make this card, and thankfully it all arrived in time for me to get the card done before taking it with me to England where she lives. This post is to show off that card.

Welcome little one

The first card I wanted to make was for some friends who were expecting a baby. They didn’t, however, know if they were having a boy or a girl, so the main challenge was to make the card as gender neutral as possible. I spent forever trying to find a suitable stamp. (It is not actually the first card I made. However, it was the first card I was determined to make, hence it is shown as the first card here.)

I early decided on the colours green and purple to avoid the red/pink and blue. And I wanted a fairly plain card. Fancy and froo froo will come when I have more experience with all the various elements in the carfting, that is my aim anyway.

Google has proven a great tool for helping me get started. I was browsing scrapping sites when I came across My Creativity Life and this particular card. (It is stunning, isn’t it?) It worked as my inspiration for the card layout and I was playing around hoping to get the measurements right.

I’m pleased with how it turned out.

Oh and congatulations on their baby girl <3
