Flowers, flowers, flowers

Last weekend I went to Iceland and it was fantastic. It was a surprise hen do / bachelorette party for a friend of mine and she had no idea she was even going! No idea whatsoever. What a fun surprise! We went whale spotting (with a bonus of dolphins), rafting and after a night out we had some relaxing hours in the Blue Lagoon before heading back home. A busy, but highly enjoyable weekend!

Anyway, time for another card. I will spend a couple of hours tomorrow as well making more cards. This one is made with a pre-coloured image by Lili of the Valley. I have used ribbon from a local shop, a blank card template by Craftwork Cards, papers by Pion Design, a couple of Martha Stewart punchers, pearls by The Hobby House and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Springtime

What a beautiful day in April it is. In fact, the past few days have been great. Warm, sunny with just a slight breeze. I can’t really believe summer is almost here, but I certainly don’t mind! Let’s celebrate with a bright and colour spring card! (Unfortunately, I’ve not taken a photo of the wreath I mentioned in the previous post, so I’ll try to remember to take a photo of it later this year)

The butterfly, ribbon and lace is from a local shop, the lovely image is a pre-coloured topper from Lili of the Valley and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Florista

Pre-coloured toppers are fantastic! They are so easy to use and helps make a card a lot faster because there is no colouring involved! The adorable one is by Sylvia Zet at The Hobby House. It was easy to pick colours to go with for sure. The papers are from Papermania and Tim Holtz. The lace is from a local shop and the ribbon, bow and flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The small buttons are card candi from Craftwork Cards, the spirals are by Kort og Godt and the sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and inked with Memento. The leaves are, as usual, made with a Martha Stewart puncher.

Vase full of flowers

I was bitten by the crafting bug this weekend and got six or seven cards made. I’m starting to get a nice pile of them now for when I have less time to make any.

On this card I have used various bits of background paper I have had for ages, a Lili of the Valley stamp I coloured in with Copics, lots of pearls, leaves made with a Martha Stewart puncher, ribbon from a local shop (I’m pleased how the bow turned out) and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Lili’s Little Fairies – Pearls
Sketchy Colors – Green, Lilac and white
Allsorts – Things with wings
No matter which challenge – Ribbons and bows

Thank you so much to Sketchy Colours for having my card as a winner of this challenge. I love my new stamps and paper!

Golden Art Deco

A while ago I went to a Range store in Essex, England. I found some gorgeous art deco images with matching accessories: papers, feathers, flowers, greetings and so on. Here is the first card I made using some of the bits I purchased. I used the newly acquired image, greeting and black feather, some old black lace I had laying about and some papers. I distressed around the edge of the white card blank and folded a corner down on the background paper. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The photo has a yellow tint to it, so it’s not quite as yellow as this looks.
