LotV 3 little reindeer

The new Lili of the Valley release is due on Wednesday and it’s full of adorable little Christmas stamps as well as other fun things such as background papers. This time the stamps will be available as both .png and in lighter colours so you can colour them in no-lines without it being too fiddly. Great, right?

I wanted to make a slimline card using the three little reindeer. I coloured them up in no-lines and once it was pretty much all done, I decided that I wanted to use a printed sentiment to go with. I had already made the card front double thickness and painted white around the edge as well as finished colouring up the image so I was prepared for the printing to go bad. In fact I just did a quick eye measurement for the positioning of the sentiment as I thought it would just ruin what I’d made. (It’s only paper, right, so have to give it a go anyway, haha.) It worked out perfectly and the placement looks like it was done a lot more carefully than it was! I definitely don’t recommend doing it this way, though, haha!

The sentiment is from the Christmas Circular and more sentiments. I removed the word Christmas to make room for my chipboard and then moved the two snowflakes a little bit further down. I also drew in a few extra stars to make them cover more of the card panel. Finally I glued on three enamel stars. Let’s have a close-up of it.

And a close-up of the reindeer. You can see what colours I used below.

Copics used: E41, E42, E43, E44, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99, R24, R27, R29, R59, R89, BG93, BG96, BG99, C0, C1, C2, YR23, YR31, E34, RV10, RV32, RV34, E70, E71, E74, E77, N9, W0, W1, W3

Lotv bears building snowman

Lili of the Valley is working on yet another new Christmas release and it’s a great one! I simply had to colour up one of the stamps right away, with these bears building a snowman! Even though there is loads of white, I opted for a no-lines version of the stamp. Blue is my favourite colour for Christmas cards, so I suppose it was a bit of an obvious choice, but hey! When it looks great, why pick something else, right? hehehe

The decorations are kept simple with just a cluster of die cut scrap paper, some die cut snowflakes, one of Lili of the Valley’s own sentiments as well as some enamel dots.

And this marks the end of August. I am pleased I managed to do a card a day. There’ll be quite a few cards the next few months too, I am sure. Tomorrow is September, and I don’t think I am quite ready for autumn yet.

Copics used: C0, C1, C2, N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, E41, E42, E43, E44, E70, E71, E74, E77, B91, B93, B95, B97, YR23, YR31, E34, R81, R83

Lotv Penguin family

I have another card to share with that I made with one of the new digital stamps available at Lili of the Valley. The stamp is called Penguin Family. I opted for something different this time and coloured in a semi-circular background behind the penguins with a hard edge to said semi-circle.

The card itself is kept simple by using stitched rectangle die for the panel and then I added some twine and one of the Christmas Topper sentiments. I cut out the sentiment by hand and then made a whole in it before attaching it to the twine. The whole coloured panel with the twine was put on a red card base.

Copics used: E41, E42, E43, BG90, BG93, BG96, BG99, N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, N9, R32, R35, R37, R39, YR04, YR09, aaaand I admit I don’t remember the combo for the sky… it might have been BG10, B000, B91, B93.

LotV penguin friends

Cards don’t have to be very complicated or fancy. Sometimes keeping it real simple works just fine. That’s what I opted for this time. I printed the Lili of the Valley Penguin Friends stamp at the top of the panel and then coloured in approximately 1/3 of the panel leaving the rest white. The sentiment was put on and printed together with the penguins. It is one of the sentiments from the 60 Christmas circular and more sentiments set, but instead of keeping the rounded shape I split it up and made it a long one.

Lotv flying by

I have quite a simple card to show you today. I’ve used various bits from Lili of the Valley to make this: the stamp Flying High, one of the watercoloured backgrounds as well as Embossed Labels. I die cut the coloured panel and put it over the watercoloured background, covering a little less than half of the front of the card.
