19. Girl eating gingerbread

I have had fun trying out some new stamp brands this December, as well as revisiting some old ones I haven’t used in quite a while! On this post I’m showing off a card I made for a secret santa swap using something I’ve never tried before, a C. C. Designs stamp! This adorable little girl has just taken a bite out of her gingerbread! Love it!

It’s been coloured up with copics, but I bet you knew that already. I’ve used various papers from Bazzill, Papirdesign, Panduro, Maja Design and Søstrene Grene. There is a bit of cheese cloth, Craftwork Cards’ card candi, acrylic paint, twine and a Kort og Godt charm. The main shape of the card is made with a Go Kreate XXL die and the snowflakes are made with a Memory Box die. I kept the card reasonably simple without a lot of embellishments, just loads of papers! Oh and the sentiment is from a Norsk Stempelblad stamp.

And here is the usual funky angle photo!

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, R20 (hair) E71, E74, E77, E79, (outfit) R22, R24, R27, R59, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, C1, C3

Santa’s helpers are here

On Wednesday it was snowing.

And snowing.

And snowing.

On Thursday it was raining, raining and stupidly windy.

Talk about having the Christmas spirit been and gone in a day! Thankfully it has a month to return! Hopefully some of you will get a bit of Christmas spirit with the card I am sharing on this Tiddly Fab Friday.

I’ve used Santa’s Helpers by Tiddly Inks and coloured it in with Copics. The papers are primarily by Maja Design and the sentiment is from Norsk Stempelblad. I’ve also used some cheese cloth, white frantage, grey distress inks, white acrylic paint, embossing powder (Ranger).

We need another photo, right?

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (hair) BV29, W9, E74, E77, E79, (brown) E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, (penguins) W0, W1, W2, W7, W9, Y13, Y38, YR18, (reds) R22, R24, R27, R89, (grey) C1, C3 + white gel pen

Best of the bunch

It is such a beautiful day today. All the various colours of autumn being highlighted by the sunshine and bright blue sky. A perfect day for a walk in the forest or around the lake. I have yet to decide which it will be!

Today I am showcasing a card using Mo Manning’s Best of the Bunch. It is totally adorable and I am certain it will appear on the blog more than once! I had a lot of fun colouring it up and I am quite pleased how it turned out. I’ve used paper from Papermania, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and dies from Precious Marieke and Papirdesign.

The dog was coloured mostly using flicks and then some harder shadows on his belly, bum and on his face.  The lighter the colour, the longer flicks I made, and did this both on the brown and grey parts of the fur. I kept most of it white as I wanted contrasts.

On the bench I’ve added a lot of smaller dots. This is to make it look like a stone bench. The dots were all random, but I tried to keep them situated somewhat like the original image even if I added a lot more of it. The majority of the darker dots are close to the edge and on the darker solid colour. Then the lighter dots are on the lighter colour. Again I tried to keep a lot of contrast.

The ground has also been made with many dots, although these are smaller than the bench to make it look like gravel.

Finally a tip: always colour the colour red as the last colour of your project. I find that red will easily bleed into other colours if I colour red first and get another, lighter, colour close to the red. It is terribly frustrating when you are pleased with your image and just added the final few bits and you get close to the red and want to just pull your hair out and never colour again… If you just use the red markers at the end of your project, you can usually avoid such unfortunate mishaps!

Here is, as usual, a different view of the card. You can see both the bench and the gravel quite well on this.

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, (hair) E25, E27, E31, E34, E49, (bench) W2, W3, W5, W7, W9, (gravel) C3, C5, C7, C9, (red) R22, R24, R27, R29, R59, (outfit) E41, E43, E44, E47, E49, (leaves) YG03, YG67, (simple blue background) B000

CMN blog hop

It’s blog hop time! Copic Marker Norge is celebrating its sixth birthday this month and we’re having a blog hop to celebrate. Each DT blog will have a small prize that can be shipped world-wide, but the main prize on the CMN will only be shipped domestically. Still very much worth while for everybody to comment on the DT blogs! The prize on my blog will be a small goodie-bag of my favourite “stash” that I have yet to put together, hence no photo of it! For information on how to win the main prize, please see the CMN blog.

I went with a Tiddly Inks image for my card. This time I actually made the background first, with two different copic refills, and then coloured the image to match. It wasn’t easy getting the right shade of red for it though, but I got there in the end with many layers of colour. I decided to go with a dark hair colour to really set the contrast with the background. The image is cut out by hand and layered over a white strip with the sentiment I made to match.

Siv is the next in line! Be sure to pop by her and leave her a comment.

Wedding Season

Don’t you juse love weddings?! So far this year I’ve been had to make a handful of wedding cards and I love doing each one. This particular card as made with the request of matching a baby card as they were celebrating both events at the same. On the right side here you can see the baby card I made and if you click on it you will be taken to the post I wrote about that card.

This one is made with my favourite wedding image, from Tiddly Inks and as usual I’ve removed the names that were added at the bottom. It’s been coloured with Copic Markers and I’ve used various embellishments from Wild Orchid Crafts, Live and Love Crafts, Martha Stewart, as well as some acrylic paint and cheese cloth.

Here is another photo from another angle:
