Party hardy

Today’s card is something different. For once I have ventured into the land of bold colours. My main intention here was to try to colour the stamp in with bold colours, not really planning to use it for anything but practicing colouring and shading. However, I ended up liking it so much that I made it into a card and started colouring two more images with bold colours. It was actually easier than I had anticipated.

The digital stamp is by Saturated Canary and Krista Smith, called Party Hardy. I have coloured it in with copics in much bolder colours than I normally dare use. In fact, I think it may be the first time I’ve coloured anything with orange. Admittedly I haven’t coloured much other than hair with yellow previously either. I have no idea what I was thinking when I picked out these colours, but whatever works right, haha!

As for the card: the bottom paper with the letters on is from a pad called Hideaway from First Edition Papers. The top one is some scrap I had left over from a card I made before Christmas. I cut out bits from various papers to make a bunting in the top left corner. As I was down the lane of doing stuff a different way I used a few types of flowers for the first time also: the lilies, the white sunflower and the daffodil. All the flowers I have used are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The small sentiment stamp and tag are from Whimsy Stamps.
