Have you ever tried to make your own Christmas tags? These are the first I’ve tried making. Siv kindly made me some tag blanks that I could decorate and I’ve had fun doing it. It is a great way to use left over scrapping papers, that’s for sure.
The dies here are by Noor Design and the text on the red is from Maja Design paper and on the blue is a Norsk Stempelblad stamp. The red flowers are by Papirdesign.

Another new thing I have attempted this year is to make a triangular box. A co-worker of mine, who had bought one at a fair a while back, showed it to me and asked if I could make something similar that she could have to put a gift card in. I played around and think it turned out pretty well!
I have added a template at the bottom if you’d like to attempt to make one yourself. I’ve also added some Norwegian instructions at the bottom of the page. (For norsk tekst ang. eske-malen, se nederst i innlegget.)
First photo is a view of it from the front. I have used a lot of Maja Design paper, which I’ve painted white edges on. The sentiment is also from their papers. The glitter paper is from Søstrene Grene. I’ve also coloured and fussy cut two gingerbread from Power Poppy, and added a small Kort og Godt charm to the twine. The tree die is by Noor Design.

With the box rotated slightly you can see that the sides have been decorated with paper on the sides also, and there is twine that ties the box together.
This photo, giving a side view, shows that I’ve also used some cheese cloth, Craftwork cards candi as well as a different Maja Design text.
The box is tired together with twine. It is easy to open and easy to tie back together.
(Informasjon på norsk lenger ned.) Here is the template. You cut at the black solid lines and score the paper on the dashed lines and then fold it all together. I have decorated it with paper slightly smaller than the measurements on the template to get a red edge around it.
The green circles are suggestions for where you add the holes. You can have them either higher up or lower down, but it is easier to have them in the middle as there is less measuring to do. As you can see from the photo above, the edge of the box isn’t straight, so then the holes would have to be in different positions on the base and on the lid.
(If you prefer inches, then you can use 12 inches (30cm), 6 inches (15cm) and 3 inches (7,5cm). Although the numbers don’t equal exactly, the numbers are similar enough to make a same size box.
I have not taken any photos of inside the box, but you can obviously decorate that also, and add a sentiment or two.

Jeg har også laget en mal. Den sorte, hele linja er hvor man kutter basen, mens den røde stiplete linja er hvor man perger. Begge sidene er like store. De grønne sirklene er hvor man kan lage hull. Du velger selv hvor du vil ha hullene, bare husk på at hvis de er mot bretten på lokket så må de være mot kanten på bunnen, og mye lenger inn (hvis du ser bildet over så skal ikke enden på den siden av boksen være rett), og motsatt.
Dekorasjonen velger man selv, men det er ikke så vanskelig å skjære ut litt mindre trekanter for å pynte med papir. Man kan også pynte inni med både papir og tekst, og det er god plass til for eksempel et gavekort.

A week into my month of posts, so let’s have something else. What about a bookmark?
It is a very simple bookmark. The stamp is from Mo’s Digital Pencil and coloured in with Copic Markers. I like having very plain, flat bookmarks and this image is perfect as it’s so easy to have your dreams float away as you sit there reading. At least I think so. I love reading and managed to reach my moderate goal of 18 books for 2017 in November, so I guess I will up it to 20 next year.

Throughout the month there will be non-card projects, too. I’ve had fun experimenting and trying to make new things the past couple of months. One of the things I’ve tried to make is a so-called Lollipop card. I’ve seen a few of them around and decided to make one myself. As usual I didn’t look at any tutorials, but decided to just play around to see if I could make one. I think it turned out alright, too.
The image I coloured is one of my first stamps. It’s James the Bear from Lili of the Valley where he’s carrying presents. It’s fun to make at least one Christmas project with him every year.
I’ve used papers from Maja Design, dies from Noor Design, some frantage, distress inks and white acrylic paint.

Something unusual is about to happen. I’m going to make a post that contains something other than a card! It’s been so long since that happened that I don’t even remember when it was.. However, what time other than right before Christmas is the perfect time to suggest what to make as a gift?
I have this great co-worker who knitted me some mittens, two pairs and gave me have a third to be exact (spoilt much? :D), so I wanted to make something in return, in addition to a card. I decided on making something she could have her knitting needles in. The choice fell on a pringles can. Before I started decorating it, I painted the whole can with a coat of white acrylic paint so the print wouldn’t accidentally end up showing through…
I cut the length I wanted on two different coloured papers and then measured around the box before cutting it to fit. Then I measured the remaining space before I cut the third piece. I used the same measurements for around the can for the various ribbons and lace. The ribbons and lace are from Wild Orhic Crafts, Live and Love Crafts and a local shop, as are the flowers on top of the can.
The image I decided to colour up is by Tiddly Inks, clearly one of my favourite images for this time of year. I chose it as it doesn’t have to be for Christmas, but still gives a wintery feeling. It is coloured up with Copics.
All around the bottom bit I have glued on small pine cones, and around the can from one end of the cut out coloured image to another I have added die cut trees that I have painted with white acrylic paint, at the back there is also a die cut deer. All the die cuts are made with Noor Design dies.
