Konfirmasjonskort

It is ‘confirmation’ season in Norway, so I have had a few requests for cards for this event. This year it has been an even tie between girl and boy cards I have made, but this is the only girl card with my own colouring. I used this lovely image by CCK called so long yesterday, and coloured it in with copics.

I have used Magnolia paper, flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from Live and Love Crafts, candy from Craftwork cards (as well as the card blank), and punches by Martha Stewart which I added row of pearls to.

Flowers for you, fluttering by.

This card was made on request a couple of months ago or so. It was to be reasonably plain with little froo froo, but I was allowed to go butterfly crazy (yey!). The flowers and pearl are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pre-coloured image by Lili of the Valley, the ribbon by The Hobby House and butterflies made from Noor Design dies.

Tulipa

New year, new cards. This is the second one I have made this year. (I will put up the other one later in the week.) There is a design team call going over at Art by Mi Ran. I had decided against entering as the entries they have so really quite good, but when I woke up this morning I thought ‘meh, why not’. It was an excellent excuse to colouring up an image instead of doing other stuff this morning anyway!

One of the things I wish to work on this year is my colouring. I feel I am improving, but it’s going to take a lot of practice to get anywhere near as good as I’d like, heh. I am still going through the skin and hair class over at Kit and Clowder, and it is just great! I hope to find enough time to finish that classes this month! (And maybe start on the clothing one after..)

I have, obviously, used an Art by Mi Ran image, it is called Tulipa. I have coloured it in with copics, but instead of using black and grey for the hair I have used the BV20s. The pink paper I have used is from a Tim Holtz pad (hey, at least I remembered one of them!) and the blue was some left over paper I had that seemed to fit perfectly. I have used distress ink on the base of the card and butterflies by Noor Design. All the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, as always. The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

As I changed my mind and decided to enter in said DT call, I guess I should provide some additional half useful information! The reason I decided to apply is that I love Mi Ran’s images, they are so very pretty! As you can see from the art I have used on the cards in this post, I am particularly fond of the cropped images. They are also a bit challenging to colour, at least for me, and therefore an excellent way to practice getting better, I think. I would love to show off these lovely images as a part of their team. As I am not on any design teams at present I would be able to fully devote my spare time to this design team. Here are a couple of other cards I have made with Mi Ran’s images, one of which I entered in their challenges and won a guest design spot, and the other I made for said guest spot. (Both cards are linked to their own posts.)

I have also entered it into the Art by Mi Ran facebook challenge.

Sleepy dragon

It has been quiet from me the past few days as I have decided to do my Christmas shopping early this year. Well… start on it early anyway. So Manchester with its Christmas markets, Arndale Centre and Trafford Centre, as well as a trip to Blackburn is taking up most of my week! I have actually gotten a good start on the gift shopping as well, yey! Anyway, because there are Christmas decorations everywhere already, Christmas Carols played over the speakers and Christmas films on the TV, my card today is perhaps as far away from Christmas as it gets!

I have coloured in this adorable Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps dragon copics. The ribbons are from the Hobby House, the background paper is Papermania, the sentiment is Kort&Godt, the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and I believe the die is a QuicKutz one.

The various bits will be linked up when I get back home at the end of next week!

The blue vase

Mid September already… Wasn’t it just Christmas? I can barely keep up anymore! I guess I should try to get cracking this weekend making some Christmas cards. That is, if I can find the time in between the 5 other cards I have to get done. Either way I am glad to spend some time making more cards. I haven’t had time to do anything the past month! I haven’t even had time to start on the colouring classes I purchased a month ago. Thankfully it looks like October will be a bit more predictable with a little less plans on the menu.

Anyway. Card! As you can see, this is another simple one. I have once again used a pre-coloured topper by Lili of the Valley. The ribbon is by Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls I have had for a few years so I simply no longer remember!

Have a great weekend!
