PFS Cake Everywhere

Picket Fence Studios (this and all following links are affiliate links) have a fun new release out today that is all about cake! It is definitely a birthday party release for me for sure and I’m going to start off with this month’s mixed media card because they are so much fun to make!

The great new stamp set with lots of cake is called Sugar and Calorie-free. You can get coordinating dies to go with! For the mixed media background I started by inking up the Birthday Dance Confetti background stamp in various colours before stamping up circles from the Wreath Building Centers and Foliage.

I’ve used Pink Tinsel paper glaze velvet on the Simple Plaid 6×8 stencil, using just parts of it. The sentiment is from Animal Crackers A Little Note whereas the sequins are from the Peach Bellini embellishment jar.

A side on view, as usual:

And a close-up, because they are fun!

Massive birthday cake

Another one of the stamps I’ve coloured up for the 30 day colouring challenge, this time one of the spring ones, was this adorable teddy bear with his massive birthday cake. The stamp is by Dreamland Crafts and I’ve used Ink On 3’s fade-out ink for the no-lines effect.

I used a green card base along with green ink on the sentiment from Mathia Design

Whimsy Princess with her cake

Whimsy Stamps have several new digital stamps out each month. One of the ones that were released this month is this cute little one with her cake. Her name is Princess and she’s a part of the CC Designs collection.

I used a die cut and some chip board along with a Norwegian text stamp. You can get the same effect on yours if you use one of the border dies in this set as well as this alphabet die set.

Elephant birthday

On Tuesday, a friend and I decided that we were going to attempt the new MFT Stamps sketch challenge, no matter what it was, when the new one was out. That was yesterday. My card came along pretty nicely. I used some stamps I coloured up a while back and kept the same colour scheme for the rest of the card, using blue, turquoise and lime green Distress Oxide inks. I cut out the coloured panels using dies from MFT Stamps and the stamps are also from them as well, the Happy Hippos and Adorable Elephants sets. I finished the card off with a Norwegian sentiment, which means happy birthday, by Mathia Design (Hobbykunst) and a few enamel dots from Altenew.

This card has been entered into the following challenge:

MFT Stamps – Sketch challenge #490

Eat cupcake and be happy

I’m trying to get quite a few of the images I’ve coloured up for the two(!) colouring challenges that Kathy Raccosin has been hosting on Instagram so far this year onto cards. I think it’s going reasonably well, but the pile is rather large so I reckon I’ll be at it for quite some time! For now I will try to have a blog post every other day. Sometimes I do wonder if I’ll ever get caught up and only have a few finished coloured images laying around…

As usual I’m keeping it simple. I cut a big of a stripy background and layered over my coloured panel. Then I found a chipboard I wanted to use, coloured it up and made a matching sentiment. A bit of coloured card stock for the card base and some enamel dots and voilà! The stamp I’ve used is from Alex Syberia’s Etsy shop and is coloured up with Copic Marker.
