Uptown girls with sparkly dresses

Yesterday was (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. The Paper Crafting hosted an event for Scandinavian scrapbookers where they had three challenges. As I spent most of the day outside in the sunshine, I didn’t really have time to take part until 8pm, but I hurried and managed to make two cards before midnight. Phew!

It was a lot of fun. Both cards are quite different to what I’ve done before. The first one I will show today, and the other will be available on my blog soon as well. Here the challenge was to use four colours from light turquoise to a darker green, as well as a yellow. (Optionally you could be inspired by the photo, but I chose the colours).

I decided to use my Tim Holtz stencil and coloured it in with my Y13 Copic Marker. Then I got out a couple of Papirdesign stamps and stamped with two different Distress Oxide Inks onto the background before I used some Washi tape for the dark stripes. After wondering what on earth to use with what I’d just made, I finally remembered my new Stamping Bella stamp which I had yet to use. Perfect, I thought! I coloured it in with my Copics and made their dresses (and drinks) sparkly! The bottom sentiment belongs to that stamp. Lastly I printed out some text and coloured in a Make It Crafty “girl” chipboard in matching colours.

Copics used: (skin) E00, E02, E15, (red haired girl) E08, E18, E19, E97, W5, W9, BG15, BG23, BG57, BG49, Y13, Y19, (black haired girl) BV23, BV25, BV29, W5, W9, Y13, Y19, Y38, BG57, BG75, BG78 YG67, G99, (drinks) RV23, RV55, RV66, (ground) C0, C3, C5 + white gel pen

Papers with a knitted pattern and blues

Here is another card without any colouring. I made it so it would match the ballerina card I posted about the other day.

Here is a card I made on order. I used loads of papers with kitting on by Papirdesign and some other scraps I had laying around that matched well. I’ve got flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and candi and leaves made with a Martha Stewart puncher.

Here is a close-up of the flowers.

Blue floral ballerina

A very special co-worker of mine had her 60th birthday quite recently, so I wanted to make her a special card. She loves blue, and knitting, so they were two of the things I wanted to include. I also wanted to colour up something fiddly as I knew she would appreciate it. The stamp I decided to use is one of my favourites at Aurora Wings. It’s so pretty! Everything is coloured up with Copics and then I stamped a Noor Design flourish in pale blue around the edges of the image.

The papers are by Papirdesign, the charm by (probably) Kort og Godt, the flowers by Live and Love Crafts as well as Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaf dies and the scalloped circle are both from La-La Land Crafts. As the final touches I added some cheese cloth, transparent water drops and candi which I coloured in a matching blue.

Here you can see the card viewed from the side.

Here is a close-up of the colouring.

Copics used: (hair) BV20, BV23, BV25, BV29, (skin) E00, E04, E13, R20, (dress) B32, B34, B39

Autumn mushroom

On this card I’ve had fun playing with distress oxide inks! They were a recent purchase and I’ve never played with distress inks to make backgrounds before, so it was just to give it a go really. I was playing around with a yellow and an orange shade, splashed on some water and cut out a strip. Completely unintentionally it ended up being the starting point of a new card!

I coloured the image, a stamp by Ching-Chou Kuik, with Copics makers a while ago, but hadn’t made it into a card as I couldn’t seem to decide on the design. I cut it out by hand and then glued it onto the card. Then I cut out some brown card stock using a Papirdesign die to make the sentiment.

Copics used (probably… I can’t find where I wrote them down so this is a semi-guess): (red) R22, R24, R27, R29, R89, (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, (grey) W0, W1, W2, W3, W5, W7, (hair, unsure..) possibly the E50s, (green, unsure, but possibly) YG01, YG03, YG63, YG67

A thank you card

It has been a while since I coloured up a Wee Stamps image, so I thought I was due using one again. This super cute little girl is one of my favourites and this time I decided on a blue and purple combination!

The Kort og Godt charm, twine, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, various papers (Lili of the Valley and Pion Design for sure) together with a dash of acrylic paint and an embossed Papirdesign stamp make up this card. I made it for one of my co-workers as her leaving card and the text says thank you very much.

And here is another photo, just for fun.
