I got a request to make a card for a little girl who loves anything to do with princesses. It had to be pink and flowery and sparkly and girly. I knew Krista Smith would have something perfect over at Saturated Canary, so I made him choose an image for the card. I then coloured it in with various pinks and reds and made her blonde. The papers I used are by Pion. I made my own sentiments, the punches are by Martha Stewart and the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. At the end I added some glitter around the sentiments, some card candy on the side and some pearls.

Picking up the post
My first inspirational post as a design team member for the Hobby House! How exciting! This month the challenge is pretty much ‘whatever’ as long as a Hobby House pre-coloured topper has been used. It doesn’t even have to be a new creation! My creation, however, is new! And I’m quite happy with how it turned out 🙂 . You can find the challenge here.
The paper is from a Papermania pad, the doily from Dovecraft, the three different punches are all Martha Stewart, the sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have used a few Hobby House products for this: the open roses in pink and beige, the adorable pre-coloured topper and the pearls.
Thailand wedding
First I have a slight announcement. The Hobby House is having a fun challenge this month where you can enter both old and new creations. All that is required is that you use one of their toppers on your creation! What’s great is that even us on the design team get to enter! Another reason for me to get my stuff added to the blog this month, hehe. Their toppers really are quite fantastic and I have loved using them over the past year, long before I asked to join their team. Check out the challenge here and the toppers here!
The reason I went to Thailand last month was because a friend of mine was getting married there. The wedding was absolutely beautiful! When I got back home I made her this card and the matching box for it.
The card is made with various bits from my stash as well as a Hobby House topper and pearls, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and various punches by Martha Stewart. The tiny little jar was bought at a crafting faire last year and inside I put sand I brought with me from the beach the wedding was held on, in Hua Hin.
The box is made with flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts. A bigger jar of sand from the beach with a tiny little bow made from a hanging strap on one of my jumpers; it was the only one I cound find that was thin enough, heh. The punches are from Martha Stewart, the paper from Pion, the dies are spellbinders and the ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.
Here is a photo of the card in the box. The ribbon around the edge of the box is from Wild Orchid Crafts.
This has been entered into the following challenges:

Thailand and a pink and girly card
I am back home again really, and no I haven’t been gone all month! Before I show you a card I will show some photos and tell you of my trip to Thailand.
Together with a few friends (some new) we travelled all over Thailand. We started in beautiful Krabi where we spent some on a longtail boat visiting seven different small island, swimming in the sunset, snorkingling in a cave and had a bbq on the beach in the dark.
The following day we took a ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi and spent a few hours on the beach enjoying brilliant sunshine and salty water in an enchantingly beautiful lagune. It really is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! Then we took the ferry from Phi Phi and spent a couple of lazy days in Phuket before we flew up to Chiang Mai.
In Chiang Mai we went to the night market, we did elephant trecking (which included bathing them, feeding them and riding them for about 45 minutes), and we visisted Tiger Kingdom where we got to be together with tigers. We also got to cuddle them, even the big ones, and watch them play around us. I will post one of the photos of me cuddling a tiger in one of the new posts! What an experience!
After Chiang Mai we flew down to Bangkok and spent the day doing some shopping before heading down to Hua Hin. We drove through some pretty nasty weather and the storm had knocked over lots of trees, knocked out the power and there was a lot of water in the streets (about 30cm or so high). Thankfully the weather cleared up just in time for the wedding so the couple did indeed get married on the beach. It was beautiful! The following the day the sun can out to play all day again and we visisted the monkeys by the temple on Monkey Mountain.
We then drove back to Bangkok where we spent another day and a half shopping and just having a good time before flying back home. Apart from the day we went to Hua Hin, the little rain we had was during the night. The rest of the time we mostly had brilliant sunshine! What a dream holiday it was!
After I got back I have been a bit unwell so I haven’t been able to really update my blog again until now. I shall keep updating it frequently again, though, from now, and I have some exiting news to share at the weekend! This week I have dug out all the crafting materials again and started on the massive task that is Christmas cards so expect a few of those over the following month!
Right, card! Today I’m showing you a card that I made a little while ago. It is a tri-fold card made with a blank from Witch Craft UK. I have used papers from Papermania, and small yellow smarties looking buttons from Craftwork Cards. The main image is a pre-coloured topper by The Hobby House, which I have edged with a Martha Stewart Puncher. The leaves are also made with a Martha Stewart puncher and the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.
For a girl
A few weeks back I was one of the lucky who were picked for a GDT over at Deep Ocean Challenges. Such a surprise it was to see my name on the list with some incredibly talented folks for sure. I am thrilled I got the opportunity! Today is the first of two challenges I am a guest designer for. This one is to make the project for a girl.
I have coloured a Saturated Canary image in with copic markers, as well as a white pen and some dew drops for the dress. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Leaf and border punches are both Martha Stewart. I layered it up using different backgrounds, a sentiment and a doily, and tried to keep it reasonably plain still.
